Based in Cairns, South Pacific Stone operates as a dedicated stone gallery and distribution hub. Clients can view, touch, and compare full slabs locally, enabling informed and confident decision-making. This model provides North Queensland with the same level of access typically found in metropolitan centres.
The Problem We Set Out to Solve
For decades, designers, builders, and homeowners in North Queensland faced limited access to stone products. Selection was often based on small samples or photographs, making it difficult to assess true colour variation, veining, texture, and quality. Travelling to major suppliers in Brisbane or the Gold Coast was costly and impractical for most projects.
SPS was established to remove these barriers and bring full-scale stone selection to the Far North.
Our History
In 2016, inspired by owner operator Trevor Hastie's guidance, a business associate launched SPS as a distribution centre and showcase for premium stone products. By 2017, Trevor acquired the budding enterprise, propelling it from a modest 20 slabs per month to a robust average of 160 slabs, fuelling the building and design sectors across the region.

Leadership Built on Industry Experience
At the helm is Trevor Hastie, Owner and Manager, a qualified stonemason with over 35 years of hands-on industry experience. From the outset of his career, Trevor recognised a fundamental problem for consumers and design professionals alike: being asked to select stone without seeing, touching, or assessing the actual slab. His long-held vision was to establish a local warehouse—a true Gallery of Stone—where designers, cabinet makers, builders, and homeowners could engage directly with full-scale materials and make informed, confident decisions.
Trevor’s depth of technical knowledge is grounded in decades on the tools. He understands stone not just as a product, but as a material with real-world performance considerations—cutting, finishing, installation, durability, and suitability for different applications—allowing clients to be guided by practical expertise, not sales talk.
